The short version: calculator inputs are processed locally, with the cut list and settings saved in your browser where storage is available. This site has no accounts and does not upload those inputs. Advertising is paused: no Google ad script or ad unit is loaded.
Who operates this site
BoardsCalc (boardscalc.com) is a free board foot calculator. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, email ssupportwebsite@gmail.com.
What we do not collect
- Your calculator inputs. Prices, quantities, dimensions and cut lists are computed locally and are not uploaded by the calculator. Closing the tab does not discard a locally saved list.
- Accounts or identity. There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no names, email addresses or passwords unless you choose to email us.
- Cookies of our own. We set none. Browser local storage is used for the functionality described below, not for advertising.
- Cross-site tracking. We do not use tracking pixels, fingerprinting or advertising identifiers to follow you between sites.
Local storage, exports and sharing
The calculator saves your cut list, unit preference, waste allowance and default price in this browser's local storage under keys beginning bc.v1.. They can survive closing a tab and are restored when you return on the same browser and device. If storage is blocked, the calculator still works but the saved session may not survive. Clear empties the saved cut list; removing this site's data in your browser settings removes all saved preferences too.
CSV and JSON exports are files you download locally. The Share link encodes project dimensions, names, quantities, prices and waste allowance in the URL fragment after #p1=. That fragment is not sent in ordinary HTTP requests, but anyone with the complete link can decode the project. Only share values you are comfortable disclosing. Printing, copying or sending an export or link is your choice.
Analytics
We load no analytics script of any kind. There is no measurement beacon, no tag manager and no product analytics on this site. What we see instead is the aggregate traffic summary that Cloudflare, our host, derives from ordinary web-server request logs: which pages were requested, the referring site, approximate country, and browser and device type. It uses no cookies, does not fingerprint visitors, cannot be used to identify you, and does not let us isolate an individual visitor's activity.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Workers as a set of static files. As with any web host, Cloudflare processes technical connection data — including your IP address — in order to deliver the page and protect against attacks and abuse. This is handled under Cloudflare's own privacy terms and is not exported to us in a form that identifies visitors.
If you email us, we hold that message and your address for as long as needed to reply and to keep a record of reported issues. We do not add you to any mailing list and do not share the address.
Advertising
Advertising is currently paused. These pages do not load the Google AdSense ad script or request ads. A publisher-account meta tag and the ads.txt file remain for ownership and authorised-seller verification; neither loads advertising code or sets cookies.
If advertising is enabled later, this policy will be updated to describe the actual implementation. Google and its partners may then use cookies or device identifiers to select and measure ads. Before serving personalised ads in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, Google's consent management requirements require a Google-certified platform integrated with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. Other ad modes still need any legally required consent for cookies or local storage. No consent platform is claimed to be active while ads are paused.

No selling of data
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. There is essentially none to sell.
Legal bases (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests to keep the site secure and available and to respond to messages. Browser storage supports the calculator's save-and-restore functionality. We do not currently request consent for advertising because no advertising code is loaded; any future non-essential processing must have the appropriate legal basis and consent before it begins.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, the practical scope of these rights here is narrow — but email us and we will do what we can. Requests are answered within one month.
Children
This site is a tool for adults running small businesses or workshops. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
International transfers
Our hosting and email providers operate global networks, so connection data and messages you send may be processed outside your country under the safeguards described in those providers' terms. No ad requests are made while advertising is paused.
Changes
Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page. Because the site is small and collects so little, changes are rare.
